Woody Allen comes back to theatres, and he’s brought along the likes of Evan Rachel Wood and Larry David to back his play in Whatever Works, opening in limited release June 19th. When a self-confessed not likeable old guy begrudgingly takes in a young runaway, he quickly gets more than he bargained for. And when her parents show up to bring their darling daughter home, they find themselves getting in just as much strangeness as everyone else. In the end, it all comes down to whatever works …

im starting to think that since larry david plays the same role in everything he ever does, that maybe thats what he really acts like in real life. lol. i hope so.

I agree. Also, (as a Allen fan) it’s getting too unbelievable having these teenagers fall for men in their 60’s in so many of his films lately. “Hollywood Ending” is a great example. Allen should star in his own films because the dialouge just doesnt fit anyone else.

It’s going to be so weird seeing Larry David playing someone other than himself.

Woody Allen would have been much better in Larry David’s role, he is not too old for the part.

I know. I hate these forced-smile-miss universe-wannabees. Who are directing them? Anyone?

feel good movie of the year my ass, this movie is for morons. It should be called the most negative movie of all time. Larry Davids character is unlikeable because he’s a retard and would never get a woman.

I went to the sneak preview yesterday. And without knowing what I would get to see I got this film. I must say, I whas pleasantly surprised. Laughed a couple of times out loud. The ending whas a bit of dissappointment IMO and sometimes the main character whas a bit to much. But overall.. great film, definatly worth watching.
